From the XI century in Sicily under the Norman kings rule throughout the Renaissance, to the Industrial Revolution: the Italian manufacturing is woven in history and industrial districts,while looking simultaneously to the future.
An ancient and prestigious textile excellence that keeps inspire and astonish the world, and today has a new way to travel beyond its frontiers: FABRICa, the two-year international exhibition about Italian textiles that recently opened in Singapore.
Organised by CMS.Cultura and produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with Sistema Moda Italia, ACIMIT (Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association) and Confartigianato Imprese, FABRICa will move to Vietnam and then tour the world counting on the support of the diplomatic network of Italian Embassies and Institutes of Culture.
We intend to keep supporting the rich and articulated Italian network which invest into quality, tech and research to allow Made in Italy to stand out and keep its historical appeal abroad – claimed the Deputy Prime Minister.
Conceived as a tactile and interactive exhibition, FABRICa intends to tell the international public about the quality, technology and research of Italian textiles through six different sections and several modules full of images, texts and multi-sensory experiences. From fabrics for fashion to those for interior design, from fibres for sportswear to sustainable yarns, addressing historical, technical and production factors, as well as the variety and quality of Italian textiles.
The whole sector is the crown jewel of our country industry thanks to its pioneering spirit and the willingness to consistently invest in last-generation machinery and high-tech materials.
